Building Science, Building Sense
Instructor: Barry Westbrook, Specialist with DocAir
Consumers are thoroughly confused about a growing number of environmental problems including mold, radon, noxious odors, sagging foundations, asbestos, and standing water in crawl spaces/basements. These issues can be deal breakers and permanently stigmatize an otherwise normal property. Realtors need a ”total” systems approach with cost effective, pragmatic solutions. These are not easy to find considering that a whole Industry has developed to exploit the fear of toxic mold, radon, asbestos, and other environmental hazards.
Building Science, Building Sense is a highly informative, two hour training course that provides realtors with all the knowledge to cost effectively resolve the typical structural and environmental problems identified in home inspection reports. Attendees will be able to identify “at risk” buildings, know the proper steps to prevent ongoing damage, and select cost effective methods to remove contamination (if necessary).
Building Science, Building Sense is about the practical resolution of the technical problems facing the realtor everyday. If you have ever missed one sale because of negative information in a home inspector’s report, you need to attend this training seminar.
Held at WCAR office on Monday, August 16, 2010, from 9:00am - 11:00am. Cost is $20 for members/ $30 for non-members, and is approved for 2 hours TREC.
