Economic Development
TM
Economic development continues to serve as the engine driving commercial and residential growth in Williamson County. Over the past two decades, a commitment of cooperation between local and state officials has enticed multiple companies to relocate corporate and regional headquarters to the area. Recent successes include Nissan North America, Verizon Wireless, and Healthways. The widespread appeal of the area can be directly attributed to the statistically-low crime rate, high-performing public education system, and overall high quality of life.
Williamson County recently hired Matt Largen as the new Director of the Office of Economic Development. The department’s primary objectives focus on recruiting new businesses, expanding existing businesses, and fostering entrepreneurship. The office prepared a detailed report showing a variety of local demographics and trends, along with lists of major industries and businesses calling Williamson County home. Sections of this report are linked below and can also be found on the WCAR webpage under Consumer Resources.
