The Williamson County Association of REALTORS® today announces the sale of homes statistics for Williamson County, Tn. for the month of August. There were 314 residential and condominium closings reported for the month, according to figures provided by RealTracs Solutions, the multiple listing service used by REALTORS® in the Middle-Tennessee area.
Compared to August of 2007, the residential home closings decreased 32 percent and the median prices for residential homes increased by five percent. Days on the market (DOM) for residential homes increased by 24 days compared to August 2007. Condominium closings increased by 28 percent (11 units). The median prices for condominiums decreased by 2 percent and days on the market also increased by 22 days compared to August 2007.

"There has been some positive news in recent weeks regarding the regional as well as the national housing market. In our market, it will be reassuring for sellers and current homeowners to see the median price rebound, although the days on the market continue to increase. For buyers, it may be a wakeup call to get in the market now before further prices increases,” Kathie Moore, 2008 President of the Williamson County Association of REALTORS® said.
