Theresa Wilson earns executive credential
FRANKLIN — The American Society of Association Executives has announced that Theresa Wilson, executive vice president of the Williamson County Association of Realtors, has earned the certified association executive credential in the association industry.
To be designated as a Certified Association Executive, which less than 5 percent of all association professionals earn, an applicant must have a minimum of three years experience in nonprofit management, complete a minimum of 75 hours of specialized professional development, pass a stringent examination in association management and pledge to uphold a code of ethics.
To maintain the certification, individuals must undertake ongoing professional development and activities in association and nonprofit management. About 3,300 association professionals hold the credential, which was first awarded in 1961.
The American Society of Association Executives is an individual membership organization of more than 22,000 association executives and industry partners representing nearly 11,000 organizations. Its members manage leading trade associations, individual membership societies and voluntary organizations across the United State and in 50 countries around the globe, as well as provide products and services to the association community.
The Williamson County Association of Realtors was established in 1962. It provides professional development and support services for real estate professionals. The association has more than 1,650 members and is headquartered in Franklin.
